Gold Medal for TV Broadcast
Nearly half of all Canadians tuned in to watch the heart breaking come from behind loss this week. Over 14 million unique viewers caught at least part of the IIHF World Junior Championship Gold Medal game on Wednesday, January 5th and although Canada did not win the game it appears that TSN and all the sponsors receiving positive coverage did. The broadcast received an average audience of 6.23 million which made it the most-watched telecast on Canadian television since the Vancouver Olympics last year.
The sheer size of these captive audiences really helps to show the power of sport and the opportunities that can exist for sponsors. Congratulations to all the sponsors of the event and the TSN broadcast for a job well done.
